Imaginary Atlas of a Legendary Bresse

The CTEAC is coming to a close — final events ahead

After two wonderful years of artistic and cultural exploration in partnership with Grand Bourg Agglomération, ARFI is preparing to bid farewell to Bresse.

Two closing events are scheduled: June 13 at the Salle des fêtes in Saint-Martin-du-Mont & June 27 at the Bistrot de Servignat, featuring three performances:

THE VOYAGE OF ULYSSES – Musical theatre, 1 hour

  • June 13 – Salle des fêtes, Saint-Martin-du-Mont by La Compagnie du Vieux Singe

The latest production by La Compagnie du Vieux Singe, The Voyage of Ulysses, written by Ophélie Kern, continues the journey begun in Tales and Legends of the Trojan War. A new tale, another legend, chronicling the return of Ulysses to his homeland after a long, wandering journey. As in the previous work, the script is designed with a dual approach: a first reading accessible to children (simple language, playful staging, and plenty of humor), and a second layer of meaning for adults, drawing links between ancient mythology and today’s world.

MILLE – A parallel song cycle, 1 hour

  • June 27 – Bistrot, Servignat

Mille is a strange recital, one that feels like stepping inside a cuckoo clock. Alone among a swarm of attentive insects, she strives to perform a radio fiction when they close their eyes and a pre-cinematic film when they open them. Click, clack. And they applaud too! It goes chhh. Some say the real mastermind behind this whole charade is the flamboyant hat that always wants to steal the spotlight…

DIVINE GOODNESS (Bonté Divine) – Absurd piece, clown & music, approx. 45 minutes

  • June 27 – Bistrot, Servignat

Have you heard of the gardener who lived on such a narrow flowerbed that he eventually turned two-dimensional? Possibly suffering from hypermnesia, this poor man didn’t know what to do with all the expressions, traditions, and unbearable vocal textures he had collected over his pitiful life. So, he created a vengeful and digressive operetta, reanimating those anthropic inflections and customs to knead them into sonic dough.

Now, you’ll witness a show inspired by that gardener’s operetta — though he won’t be there, having chosen instead to become a monounsaturated fatty acid. In his place: a quarrelsome yet honest concierge, a haunted voiceover with nothing left to dub, ghostly refrains, Grigorine, and many more. And above all, narrating this cosmic tale: a manic-depressive bard doing their best to make sense of the constellation.

An event presented as part of the CTEAC coordinated by Grand Bourg Agglomération, with support from the Contrat de Filière (CNM, DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region).
