"The Flexibility of the Whale" is a wordless Musical Theatre performance for all audiences, written and performed by Alfred Spirli and Jean-Marc François. A conductor, a true alchemist of Sound, works to extract music from a jumble of retrieved and original objects. From this musical and visual fantasy emerges a series of short scenes led by his eccentric and resourceful assistant.
Among the chaos, mechanical animals are transformed into theatrical characters, a freshwater sailor appears, giant creatures make their way on stage, and a virtuoso dancer graces the performance…
This ode to recycling culminates in a grand finale with a "symphony" of toys, an attempt to build a pyramid of automatons, and the appearance of a hybrid human being with four legs.
But why "The Flexibility of the Whale"? You will find out by enjoying this extraordinary performance!
