Before being transformed into hideous and perilous creatures, Charybdis and Scylla were daughters of the gods. Are these three bass clarinets, with their serene profile and haughty timbre, monstrous or divine? Never mind the rumours; as an old Auvergne proverb goes, ‘the dogs bark, the bass clarinet plays’.
Whether this trio navigates the turbulent waters of original compositions or the headwinds of improvisation, it stays on course through wide ranges, and sails the seas aboard its acoustic bell.
